Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am an 18 yr old male. Bad chest pains came on while travelling to work. Pain in centre of chest seems to spread across. Also bad pain in throat. Hurts when I breathe deeply. Had a heart murmur as a child, apparently now gone. Could this be indigestion, upper respitory tract infection or indigestion. Pain is continuous but tends to build. Feels like my chest could burst. Throat feels like it is swelling although throat looks normal. White fur on tongue and slightly on roof of mouth.
Hello and welcome to HCM, White tongue and throat pain suggest throat infection along with inflammation. Throat swab should be taken to look for infection. The chest pain could be due to indigestion or reflux. If these possibilities are ruled out, then these symptoms could be related to disorders of cardiovascular system. An ECG and echocardiography should be done. If the cardiovascular system is clear, respiratory system should be examined by investigations like X-ray chest. Musculoskeletal system disorders also cause symptoms of chest pain etc.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja P Wahal
