What Causes Chronic Constipation And Pain During Intercourse?

I am a 23 year old female. I have several different problems and I am unsure if they are related. Here is a list of my symptoms: - Chronic constipation/diarrhea - Mucus in feces - Never feeling fully empty after defecating - Bloating and gas - Hemmeroids - Pain in lower left side of back. The pain comes and goes, but when it is there, I am incapacitated because it hurts so bad. (I have seen a gastrointestinal specialist who did an unltrasound on my stomach and inserted a tube into my anus to see if I had any abnormalities, but she said I was fine and normal. She said she didn t see any reason for the pain in my back. She put me on laxatives and several herbal meds that didn t help. She said that my constipation might be due to stress in my life (which I have a ton of for the last few years). - Chronic ear infections (I have been treated with anitbiotics. The pain goes away for a short time and then comes back again. Have had this problem for about 2 years.) - Chronic mucus in the back of my throat (experienced this for the last 4-5 months) - Bronchitis and coughing up the mucus which appears exactly like snot in both consistency and color (a little over a month now) - Crusty morning eyes with mucusy stuff in them (3 or 4 months) - Chronic painful burning sensation during intercourse. The pain begins immediately while inserting and does not stop, but lessens when movement ceases. It lasts for a half hour to an hour afterwards and I am unable to repeat intercourse for at least 24 hours because I am so sore. I have been experiencing this since resuming intercourse following the birth of my child 2 years ago and I had already had a IUD inserted for birth control at my 6 week check-up. I had it removed after 6 months because of constant bleeding. I am currently taking birth control pills. I have had a few vaginal infections and A few UTI s since then, but not consecutively. I have not seen a doctor about this specific problem. My husband and I are monogomous and have never had any other sexual partners so STD s are not a possibility. Please tell me what I may have wrong with me and if any of these symptoms could be related. Thanks.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

I have reviewed your query and here is my advise.

The dyspareunia with constipation can be part of vulvodynia due to certain non-specific neurologic conditions, anxiety or else.

Post delivery narrowing of the vaginal canal (either via episiotomy suturing or else) can be a detrimental issue here.

Kindly get examined by your OBGY for best evaluation and further guidelines in this regard.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel,
