i got into an accedent tuesday night and the hospital said i tore the ligaments in my knee and ankle.wel when i left the hospital all that hurt was my knee.wendsday the very next day i noticed i couldnt move my ankle or toes then thursday it became numb and cold.i then went back to the hospital and they done x-rays cat scans and an ultrasound and said they found a pulse and that nothing was wrong with it other than the swelling.well again today it has me very worried and would like a second oppinion.thanks
You hadn't mentioned about the treatment received in the hospital, whether they applied pop slab or put on some brace or crepe bandage. These types of symptoms points towards some sort of compression affecting the part as a whole, which causes impaired flow through the nerves and blood vessels.
That's the same reason why they did ultrasound of your leg., better investigation is CT angiogram but it has its hazards as well. Since your USG didn't shown any sort of compression it means compression that's present earlier was temporary and relieved by removal of the cause responsible for it. Nothing to worry if your symptoms are relieved if not go for CT angiogram for confirmation.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
