What Causes Continuous Vaginal Spotting While On Birth Control Pills?

I stopped taking my birth control in April 2011. I went back to my doctor in June to get it re-prescribed; same medication but a higher dosage. The first month on the birth control was fine, but now I'm close to the end of the second month and for the back couple weeks I've been spotting every day and today I got my period a day early even though I took my pill yesterday and this morning. Is there something wrong with me, or the pill?

Hello,

Slight menstrual irregularities and spotting is quite common with hormonal pills. Generally it will settle by itself. If symptoms persists better to consult a gynaecologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
