Welcome to Healthcare Magic
He probably has gastric trouble due to gastritis. Has cancer been ruled out since your Caption of this topic is named cancer. Does he have weight loss. But coughing of blood indicates mainly lung problem. Is he a smoker. If he vomits dark brown blood it comes from stomach. If fresh red blood it can come from lungs upto mouth injuries. Have any tests been done. Better to give him cool, soft, bland diet. Avoid spicy food. He needs to drink enough water unless any contraindication due to heart disease. Get an upper GI endoscopy to look at his food pipe and stomach to confirm diagnosis and consult with a Surgeon.
