What Causes Dark Reddish Purple Scrotum?

My husband was really sick a few weeks again. Had a perirectal abscess size of a tennis ball and some major infection going on. During his hospital stay his scrotum turned a dark reddish purple. It went away after a few days but is it something we should worry about? We want more kids

Thanks for query.

Your husband has large perirectal abscess and has his scrotum turned dark reddish .

This is due to the spreading of infection (Cellulitis) of the subcutaneous tissue along the same plane of the scrotum which is in continuity with the perineal area.

Taking appropriate antibiotics and anti inflammatory drugs like Diclofenac will resolve the infection .
