What Causes Delay In Periods When Missed 2 Birth Control Pills?
I ended my last period the last week in February on a Wednesday, my boyfriend and I had sex the following Sunday and he pulled out but some May have gotten in. I do take birth control but I was late on 2 pills. I m supposed to get my period this week. After I was late on the pills I also spotted and clotted, do you think I will be pregnant?
The fertile days range from day 10-20 in a normal regular cycle. However for women on pills ovulation may occur in the next 7 days after the pills are missed. So please check if the sexual episode occured during these 7 days after the missed pills.
As of now, it is difficult to say if the missed pills or pregnancy is causing the delay. The best way to rule this out is by getting a pregnancy test 3 weeks after the sexual episode, if it is negative then pregnancy is ruled out.
Other reasons for delay are stress and hormonal imbalances. So pelase wait for 3 weeks after the sexual episode and then get a pregnancy test. If it is negative just wait for another 2-3 weeks for the next period. They will most likely come by then.
Do not worry as stress will further delay the periods.
