What Causes Delayed Periods After Removing Mirena Coil?

Hi,
I had a mirena coil in for 6 months and this was put in by a surgeon straight after a termination. I have always had a very regular 28 day cycle and continued to do so all the time I had the coil. l then had the coil removed during my last period and have been trying to conceive since. For the first time ever, my period is now 5 days late but pregnancy test was negative. I am 38 and now concerned about my fertility status. How long should I wait for my periods to regulate again and am I likely to still be ovulating at the moment? Thank you
