Hello

Welcome to HealthcareMagic!

Diarrhea associated with gas and burps with normal gastrointestinal (GI) tests is suggestive of Diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D). It is a functional disorder of the GI tract without any specific pathology. There is no test to identify IBS-D. Only complete history, physical exam and exclusion of other diseases help to diagnose IBS-D. Tension headache that you experience might be associated with IBS-D. Recent research has shown an association of IBS with migraine-tension type headache.
Management of IBS-D is primarily life style and dietary changes. You may try following life style changes to ease the symptoms of IBS-D such as exercising regularly, getting enough sleep, taking fiber supplements, eating food in small portions and avoiding food that cause bloating (carbonated and alcoholic beverages, caffeine, raw fruit, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower etc). You my use OTC Loperamide to controlled diarrhea. In addition, based on your symptoms your doctor may prescribe antidepressants (eg, Paroxetine, Imipramine, Nortriptillin), pain medications (eg, Pregabalin), Anticholinergics ( Dicyclomine, Hyoscyamine).
I hope the above information will be helpful for you. Please, feel free to ask me if there is anything else you need to know.

Thank you,
Malik Amonov MD
