Brown discharge from the abdominal wound after 8 days of surgery for sigmoid resection with pain all over abdomen and golf ball size lump indicate abdominal incision dehiscence.
I would advise you he following:
Rush to the ER or to the hospital where you were operated for proper clinical evaluation, examination and investigations of
ultrasonography, X-ray of the abdomen in standing position and other relevant tests of blood and stool.
You may need
drainage of the
abscess and strapping of the abdomen, a long wound care program.
Multivitamins, antibiotics help early recover.
Secondary suturing may be required if medical management fails.
Do not take anything orally till you visit a Doctor.
