Hi.
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain as you have a week passed when you got your tonsillectomy done and fluid build up is commonly seen after tonsillectomy which gradually reduces when healing progresses but in case if there is no improvement and you also have bad breath and pain in ears there is a higher possibility that you have infection in the tonsillectomy sites and as the middle ear and throat have a communication via eustachian tube so there can be infection in ears communicating from throat..
You should consult your treating surgeon and get evaluated and in case of infection he can advise you to take antibiotics like Augmentin or Levofloxcin, take painkillers like Ibuprofen or Tramadol, do warm saline gargles and also antibiotic ear drops to relieve infection..
If there is excessive mucous in throat a suction machine can be used to remove the mucous and provide relief..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
