What Causes Ear Lobe Infection While Using Ear Rings?

I'm a swimmer and have ear piercings and in order to prevent the holes from closing, I have to constantly put fake earrings in. I've had my piercings for over 9 years now and I've always gotten an ear lobe infection from fake rings, hence why I always use the ones from jewelry shop (those don't do anything to my ears and I can wear them for days without taking them out). Is this an allergic reaction to the material used in the fake earrings?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain yes it is true that you are getting an allergic reaction to the fake earring due to decomposition of the metal and decomposition products are causing allergic reaction..
You should stop wearing the earring and clean the earlobe with antiseptic solution and apply a triple antibiotic ointment over it..
You can also apply a steroid ointment over it..
Do cool compresses over the ear lobe..
If you want to wear earring, wear either of gold or plastic as they will not cause allergy..
