What Causes Earache, Discharge And Hearing Difficulty?
I went to bed with slight cough, ear discomfort - during the night, severe ear pain and drainage - some bleeding- occured. Presently, head conjestion, hearing difficulty in both ears and slight cough. Bending over is done very carefully due to ear problems to discourage pain. No temperature. Do I need to see my doctor?
All the symptoms like coughing, head congestion, ear pain with discharge of pus and blood indicate a dire need to see your doctor urgently to avoid further complications. The cause is obviously a viral or bacterial infection. The infection starts with nose and spreads to the middle ear through eustachian tubes to cause fluid build up and thus pressure perforating the eardrum. May cause further problems of tinnitus, vertigo and lung infection if spread to the lungs.
Hence, you need to see a Doctor urgently for clinical evaluation, examination and investigations as needed to get started on proper treatment with antibiotics, decongestants and anti-inflammatory medicines to have early recovery and cure.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
