Hi,I have eleveted lipase for past one year (normal being 60 in my Lab) my lipase went to 100 and went down now to 62. I could see it slowly going from 60 to 100 and on taking omniprezole 40mg a dayit went down below 60, recently it is at 62. I checked with my GP, untrasound clear, endscopy ultrasound clear, upper showed H Pylori last year treated with triple therapy. it got cured with breadth test. CT scan clear, MRCP clear. Now I have been getting tummy burning on and off. I am little scared. Please help.Ana
Increased lipase always raises the question of whether the pancreas is affected or not as this is the principal source of this enzyme. With investigations not able to pick up the cause and the lipase returning to near normal, it could have been a point abnormality. With recurrent stomach pain, I will suggest that your doctor should examen you and rule out the possibility of small pancreatitis attacks/episodes.
I hope this helps. I wish you well.
