Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have distention nausea pain and bloating of the epigastric region just below the xyphoid process. Tests have ruled out celiac disease but there are a erosions in the gastric Antrum and there is a very low serum iron, ferritin, and iron concentration this is been present for more than eight months. Stool is negative for occult blood, colonoscopy normal except for redundant flexures at the hepatic and splenic flexures. Occasional sharp pain in gall bladder region but ultrasounds = no stones or obstruction. Symptoms seem worse with mental stress or come out of the blue unrelated to eating or drink. What is it
Hi. Thanks for your query. Read the history and understood your concerns. The pain, bloating, nausea in epigastric region, related to stress and not with foods; no celiac disease but erosins in gastric antrum and rest of the investigations are normal. This indicates direct relation with the stress like one gets in IBS that is irritable bowel syndrome. Hence I would advise you the following: Consult a Gastroenterologist for clinical evaluation, correlation with lab reports and other investigation. Get s proper symptomatic and supportive treatment for the symptoms. If a specific diagnosis is found, you will be treated accordingly. Small frequent feeds. PPI like Omeprazole. Domperidone for motility disorder. Rest of the treatment as advised.
