I'm 43- underwent anesthesia last Friday for the "Novosure" procedure (endometerial ablation) and when I woke up the doctor said they couldn't do it because my cervix was misshaped. After an ultrasound, vaginal ultrasound, D & C 2 weeks prior, I'm wondering if my doctor is a quack. How could he NOT know? He now recommends a hysterectomy. My original complaint was having extended periods. Sometimes lasting 3 weeks. Never heavy flow, just constant. After the D & C, no bleeding only watery discharge until 1 week post- I started a "period" bright red, heavy discharge with cramps that felt like contractions (never been pregnant but can only guess)
