What Causes Fluctuations While Taking Insulin For Type-1 Diabetes?

hello sir,i m 17years old girl.....6months ago i m diagonised as type-1diabetes.......i m taking insulin twice a day.....but also there is a lot of fluctuations......so what is the cause for this sir..........please help me i m totally confused!!!!!!!!!

Dear Madam,
Please do not worry. Type 1 Diabetes is known for fluctuations so it is not abnormal. Now coming to how to manage it , Please check blood sugars frequently and make a chart. Ideal would be a "six point blood sugar profile" - FBS, PPBS, PRE LUNCH, POST LUNCH, PRE DINNER & pOST DINNER values. With these reading we will be able to fix a dose for you. Second thing you need to learn is about carb counting so that you can slightly modify insulin dose as per your diet. In certain places there is a facility to do CGMS which will chart the whole day's blood sugar so we might be able to decide on a dosage.
