Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.
As per your complain and presentation of symptoms white appearance of tongue is most commonly due to
fungal infection on tongue known as
Oral thrush which appears as cheesy white patches over the tongue which can be wiped off leaving a raw tongue surface below..
One other thing that can cause a whitish appearance of tongue can be due to long growing tongue papillae which does not shed off and it is commonly seen in case of long term intake of
soft diet and if tongue is not cleaned properly on daily basis..
If you have a doubt about having
Binge Eating Disorder consult a Psychiatrist and get evaluated and treated accordingly.
For white appearance of tongue consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and if it is thrush he/she will advise you to take antifungal mouthwash like
Nystatin mouthwash gargles,
clotrimazole lozenges and eating more of probiotics like Yoghurt and garlic.
If it is papillae that have overgrown and did not shed then in this case using a tongue cleaner to clean the tongue regularly and take more of hard foods like raw fruits and vegetables as it helps in regular shedding of the papillae and also prevents infection..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards..
