What Causes Flutters In Chest, Phlegm In Throat And Mucus In Chest?

I am 29 years old, female, 5'11" 180lbs. I have been diagnosed with a generalized anxiety disorder and quit smoking about one month ago. For the past week or so I have been feeling a lot of "flutters" in my chest, and a feeling of excess phlegm in the back of my throat. It feels like I have mucus in my chest, and that is what is causing the fluttering, but I have also had heart palpitations quite often (hence the anxiety disorder diagnosis).

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hi. I can understand your concern.
Possibility of bronchitis is more in your case.
So better to consult pulmonologist and get done clinical examination of respiratory system and PFT (Pulmonary Function Test).
PFT is needed for the diagnosis of bronchitis.
It will also tell you about severity of the disease and treatment of bronchitis is based on severity only.
You may need inhaled bronchodilators and inhaled corticosteroid (ICS)
Don't worry, you will be alright.
Hope I have solved your query.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
