Dear sir/madam i can understand your concern. The main reason for foot ulcers in diabetes is due to weakening of nerves this is called diabetic neuropathy. This is a condition in which patient looses protective sensation of foot and foot always tend to feel numb. associated with that uncontrolled diabetes will decrease wound healing abitlity of body. i suggest you to change the regimen of insulin to basal and bolus. this includes lantus and novorapid, kindly discuss with your treating doc for the dose adjustment I am afraid its not possible to stop insulin completely But by using latest Drugs like Dpp 4 inhibitors and SGLT2 inhibitors you ca reduce the dose of insulin and have better control of blood sugar.
