Hi, I m taking oral contraceptives the last one being Thursday on a 21 active day pack with seven placebos. My period usually starts 1 -3 days after I take my last pill. I have not had it. On Sunday I had a smear of pink to red blood with clear sticky discharge. I ve been cramping off and on since then and still no period. I took a pregnancy test yesterday evening which was neg. This morning I was dizzy and lightheaded as if I would faint. I m not diabetic or hypertensive. I checked both and they were normal. My appetite is different I feel hungry sooner after eating than before. I usually get breast tenderness when I m coming on my period with the pills but have had none Im due to start a new pack of pills today. Should I and could I be pregnant?
you are using contraceptive pills so there are very less chances of getting pregnant but there is always chance of failure if you have not maintained regularity. and periods can be delayed many other reasons like hormonal imbalance, stress , etc.pregnancy test is negative right now but it may turn positive once the hormonal level reaches up to the detection level. Go to gynecologist for further evaluation by sonography.
Hope this information helps you. Best wishes
