What Causes Growing Pain On Left Side Below Ribs When Suffering From Diastolic Dysfunction?

I have been told that my Doppler/stress test/electrocardiogram showed that my heart does not relax between contractions and for years I have had steadily growing pain on the left side (back below my ribs) when I sleep. Also, I wake up every morning feeling bloated. Any ideas? BTW two brothers passed with heart attacks in their late 40s and my father late 50s. I am 56.

Thanks for query.Chest pain/pressure may occur as a result of either primary myocardial ischemia from coronary disease or secondary myocardial ischemia from increased filling pressure, poor cardiac output (and therefore poor coronary diastolic filling),in your case it might be second one.coming to other symptoms it is called Paroxysmal nocturnal dyspnea .discuss with your cardiologist for treatment options.regards
