Hello,

Fluctuations in hormone levels caused by the menstrual cycle can trigger headaches for some women. Both combination birth control pills and progestin-only pills may cause headaches as a side effect. Even the break from birth control pills can fluctuate the hormone and cause headaches.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
