Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have serious heart burn or acid reflux, but I also have heart palpitations. My palpitations sometimes seems as if it's going to be my last heart beat. I have to catch my breath and then my heart continues to beat regular. I'm just wondering will my heat just stop beating one day? I'm only 36 and i've had ekg's stress test, and a heart cath.
Hi welcome to HCM. Heart burn in your case is related to underlying gastroesophageal reflux disease, which causes reflux of stomach acid into the lower esophagus producing the spectrum of above symptoms. This can be diagnosed with upper Git endoscopy.Drugs like proton pump inhibitors like pantoprazole can lead to prompt resolution of symptoms when used for 14-21 days.Elevation of the bed end by 30 degrees at night can reduce the acid reflux.Avoid spicy food.Consult your doctor for further queries. Thank you
