Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Yes, cushing syndrome can be present with palpitations, but it is very rare. Most likely your palpitations are because of heart involvement. Joint pain and swollen face are all characteristic side effect of cushing syndrome.
However, for palpitations I would advice you to avoid caffeine,
nicotine, alcohol, or illegal drugs such as cocaine and
amphetamines. Get your
thyroid levels checked up. Other useful tests include:
Electrocardiogram (EKG): This can be done while you’re at rest or exercising. The latter is called a
stress EKG. In both cases, the test records your heart's electrical signals and can find unusual heart rhythms.
Holter monitoring : You’ll wear a monitor on your chest. It continuously records your heart's electrical signals for 24 to 48 hours. It can identify rhythm differences that weren't picked up during an EKG.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Rishu Saxena
