Having a lot of vaginal discharge with fishy odor are signs that you have bacterial vaginosis . But while you have had unprotected intercourse , it is important to exclude other serious infections, such as the STDs gonorrhea and Chlamydia. Hence get a vaginal swab done ,than contact with your gynecologist for proper treatment . Antibiotics are the recommended treatment for bacterial vaginosis. A few antibiotic remedies are routinely used and include:
metronidazole (Flagyl) taken by either oral (pill) form or vaginally metronidazole gel (Metrogel). vaginal clindamycin cream (Cleocin) tinidazole (Tindamax) is an antibiotic that appears to be effective in treating bacterial vaginosis, and may have fewer side effects than metronidazole All of them should be prescribed from doctor.
