What Causes Huge Bruise On Back Of Leg?

I had a huge bruise appear on the back of my leg below the of the knee. I don t recall hitting it or any thing. it is black around it and and like redish purple in the middle. it is a little tender. about the size of a grapefruit maybe little bit bigger. my legs and ankles stay swollen kinda of hurts to walk I had a venous closure done on the other leg and was told I have superficial venous thombous??? in it and phlebitis .. it has a little bit of throbbing in it.

Hi.
As per your case history you are having a purpuric rash.
My treatment advice is -
1. Wear loose clothes and avoid trauma.
2. Take a NSAID like ibuprofen for pain.
3. Take a vitamin c supplement once daily for 3 months.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, topical steroid cream given only after consulting a dermatologist.

If problem persists then consult a dermatologist.
