Hi, welcome to our site. I am Dr Saumya Mittal, MD.
Read your query. That is a very significant question and i appreciate your problem. I will try my best to answer your query
I am not sure how your doctors are playing it. I usually prefer to give my patients 2 types of
insulin. One would be a long acting insulin. That is usually taken at bedtime. In addition I like to give a short acting insulin, called Actrapid, to cover meals.
I suggest the same for you.
You can start by taking 4 units of the insulin. And step it up slowly. Personally I would suggest you get admitted for a day or two, so that your needed dose can be calculated. And then we can further it from there.
By the way, what was the pill, dose of the pill, and why was it changed?
I hope this helps you. Inform the reports mentioned above/if any other so I can be of help further.
I have given you the answer to the maximum considering the information provided. The results of the tests could further enhance my answer to you.
