What Causes Inflamed Lacrimal Glands?

I have an "inflamed" Lachrymal" gland(per my orbital specialist) It had become detached and descended down from behind my browbone into my eyelid. The OS biopsied it to make sure it wasn't cancerous- then reattached it behind my orbital bone. He seemed to act like the inflammation was something I needed to live with- but a family friend(who is also a doctor) told me that inflammation usually means infection and I should have it treated- but he was unsure what sort of specialist to see. It causes(and has caused) symptoms similar to migraines since it first detached 2 plus years ago. What type of doctor do I need to make an appt with to treat the infection/inflammation? The family friend suggested cephlaxin(sp?) to treat it as it is obviously chronic and not going away on it's own. Please advise.
