What Causes Intense Chest Pain When Swallowing The Food?

Periodically during eating or drinking a beverage (not alcohol) I start feeling a very intense, strong chest pain with strong pressure. I have also noticed at times it feels as if I am swallowing around something in my esophagus. I do not have GERD problems. As the pain and pressure intensives I can t swallow or breathe, thus I pass out. This last time, when I came to I was confused and not sure where I was, but then came to realize I was laying on my kitchen floor. When these episodes happen they are now getting longer, thus this time the confusion. I have passed out before but did not stay out so long or was confused. If this is esophageal spasms what concerns me is the increase amount of time that I am out. Your thoughts.
