What Causes Irregular Brown Discharge With Cramps And Clots?
I am 39 and have always had pms but in the last year it has gotten worse along with the regular cramps and headaches 2wks before I now get nausea diarrhea breast pain migraines and back pain it will last until my period. My periods used to last 1 week and are very heavy lots of clotting, now it starts for one day then next day it turns brown by the 3rd day it s gone. Then the following week it starts again full force with bleeding clots and pms and last rest of week. Could the change be due to my age could I be starting menopause?
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. Yes, all these symptoms can be due to starting of menopause. You are approaching 40 years. So some age related hormonal changes are bound to occur. Hormonal changes like low estrogen, low progesterone etc can cause systemic symptoms like headache, abdominal cramps, migraine, back pain, diarrhea etc. Your menstrual abnormality is also due to hormonal imbalance. So better to consult gynecologist and get done clinical examination, hormone levels and microscopic examination of discharge (to rule out infection). You may need hormone replacement therapy (HRT). Don't worry, you will be alright. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
