I fell about a month ago on my knee and shin on a sharp edged wooden step. I ended up going to the dr 5 days later as an acute visit due to sudden intense pain.The leg was severely swollen and bruised starting the day of the fall. I had xrays and a doppler. There was no clot and no break. The dr said I had a blood build up in the miniscus and that the swelling would take months to heal. I was given a script for physical therapy. A few days after the fall my shin started itching. The leg is still swollen, all bruising is gone however the itching had increased to almost the whole shin and is widening. The skin itself is red, slightly warm, and has a wavy appearance as it blisters were going to form but don't. Inside it feels very hot just not ot the touch. I saw my dermo 2 weeks ago for other things and had him look at it. He said it was a rash and nothing to be concerned about and gave me a script for triamcinolone which does nothing. Today at work a colleague said it looked like cellulitis. I looked online at images and it doesn't match the symptoms. Got any ideas. I don't want to panic but I don't want to take any chances. I did that when I fell and neglected to go to the dr at the time.
