What Causes Itchy Moles On The Back And Stomach?

I have a number of moles which have grown larger with time, on both my back and stomach. They are oddly shaped and raised and have begun to Itch with increasing regularity. They are different shades in color and not appealing to view. Could they be cancerous or pre-cancerous? I am 61 years of age. Thanks

Hello,

Welcome and thanks for posting your query to forum.

I can understand your concern for the moles on both back and stomach. It is really distressing for anyone to have so many moles on anywhere over skin.

To tell you scientifically and medically regarding moles- there are certain cells known as melanocytes in the skin which gives color to the skin which proliferates inside the skin and forms the moles. It may appear any time after birth and is more common in people with white skin.

Generally these are not problamatic but some times these can be seen with caution. There are certain specific feature which should be known to you :

- any itching or burning or pain in any mole.
- any kind irregular borders in your mole.
- any sort of variegated (different) colors you observed in your mole.

So, above points should always be checked and if find something like that or anything unusual then immediately should report to the doctor.

All the best
