What Causes Light Vaginal Bleeding With A History Of Episiotomy?

i had an episiotomy many years ago and have recently noticed small amounts of blood on underwear. i had a colonoscopy last month and the md said all was normal, but i have a hemmoroid and/or polyp externally--i think this is scar tissue from my episiotomy , i noticed that i seem to have more tissue down there and have had the minor bleeding for several months (but no pain). he has referred me to a surgeon , but does this sound like something to worry about?
