What Causes Lump In The Vagina During Pregnancy?

my wife is pregnant. just this morning she noticed a lump in her vagina that appears reddish and she said it is painful too. It is about the size of a pearl and she didnt notice it until today. Is this something serious especially in light of her pregnancy? She is just in her second trimester. Help!

Hello dear,I understand your concern. In my opinion the painful lump might be infected bartholin cyst.Anyway definite diagnosis can be made by physical examination. But nothing to worry.Apply hot fomentation. If any pus pointing is present then mupirocin ointment can be applied. If size and pain still increase then oral antibiotics might be needed. It doesn't cause any problem for pregnancy.
