I have severe pain when I touch the area on the front of my neck where the thyroid is (was in my case- right lobe was removed because of nodules. They turned out to be non cancerous) I am now on 50 mcg Synthroid daily. I have extreme pain when I swallow and a what feels like a huge lump in my throat. I also have pain when I tilt my head back or from side to side. There is no pain when I put my chin to my chest. I have no other symptoms that would relate to a flu, cold etc. Any ideas on what may be going on here? The pain is very acute 600 mg ibuprofen and 5-500 m vicoden do not help.
