What Causes Metal Smelling Flatuence?
hi for the past few months when I pass gas/fart is smells like a strong smell or metal or iron mix. It is so strong, and I am wondering what is causing it. I do not take any type of medication except ortho try clylen birth control pills, and i do not take iron pills.

As per my surgical experience, the issue with smelling flatulence is a concern with the intestine flora and ammonia producing organisms hampering the GI tract cells.
If the same issue is being started after birth pills, that chemical formulation can be causative agent, and if not co-related, then work up with stool microscopy is mandatory to rule out any type of bacterial infection or abnormal reducing substances in the fecal matter.
