What Causes Migraine?

My daughter was kicked in the head during cheer practice a week ago. About a day or two after she has been getting really bad headaches everyday and having to take 1 - 2 migrane pills. Do I need to have her looked at? She has usually only gets a migraine maybe once every 3 or 4 months.

Hi,

If your daughter was "kicked" in the head and now has an increased frequency of severe headaches which is unusual for her and she is taking that much medication to calm things down than, I believe it would be to her benefit to be examined by a physician and possibly have an imaging study of the head.

I don't think to stay at home HOPING this is going to get better is the best way to approach such a case.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dariush Saghafi, Neurologist
