What Causes Mole Like Growths On Labia During Pregnancy?
I am currently pregnant and have recently noticed some dark raised mole like growths all over my labia. There is one in particular that larger and feels mildly uncomfortable at times. I have made them bleed by too much friction. Is this something I should be concerned about (could it be a form of an std?) or is it just another weird side effect of pregnancy. I failed to mention that I am taking extra progestrone for previous pregnancy complications.
Being pregnant can frequently make existing moles grow larger, or make new ones appear, from the hormones. I suggest you have an examintaion by your OBGYN doctor to look at the growths. Yes, certain STDs can cause bumps on the labia (genital warts are the most common culprit) but as I said before, many pregnant women just sprout moles due to hormones. If the bumps you have are pregnancy related, they will get smaller and fade after the baby is born, so you do not need to remove them unless they are uncomfortable. Your OBGYN can tell the difference and remove the uncomfortable one if necessary.
I hope this answered your question, and that this advice was helpful.
Best regards, and good luck with your pregnancy.
