What Causes My Son's Sudden High Fever And Pain In The Back Of The Head?
6 year old boy, history of unexplained sudden high fevers of 104-105 degress. Has a high fever again this time with bad headache in back of head and dizzy.. what could be causing this. He also has a history of nosebleeds that don't appear to be allergy related.
Viral infections are the most common cause for fever and other signs/symptoms of infection in children though other types of infections can occur as well.
His temperature is very high and would need treatment with antipyretics (Eg acetaminophen), tepid sponging and possibly fan therapy.
You should consider having him assessed to determine the infection that is present in case additional treatment is necessary.
I hope this helps
