Well, If I were your son's treating Doctor for this case of nape of the neck lumps, I would come up with three possibilities, these include:
1. lymph nodes due to some chronic disorder like scalp infection, viral infection,
tuberculosis,
lymphoma or chronic throat /
neck infection 2. The second possibility is of benign and simple conditions like lipoma or neurofibroma; there is nothing to worry about these!
3. The last possibility is of sebaceous cyst or some other cysts like branchial cyst or lymphatic cysts! Nothing to worry about these also!
Therefore, the treatment only depends upon the diagnosis and generally medicines are sufficient in majority of cases!
I suggest you to go for an FNAC /
biopsy and
ultrasound of the lumps for confirmation and to relieve your concerns!
