What Causes Pain And Blood In Mucus During Bowel Movement?
i have a dull pain in lower left side,and have bloody mucas without stools and sometimes with,this has been on and off since febuary 2011,i had a colonoscopy in march2011 and it showed some redness,they also took biopsies which came back clear,so i dont know what this could be,please help.

What about stool for microscopy, culture, fecal fat.
What antibiotics have you been???
Most common cause
1 . infections (shigella, salmonella, campylobactor, amoebiasis, Guardia)
2.inflammatory bowel disease
3.IBS
4 . rectal mucous secreting tumor /polyp
5.malobsorption syndromes
To be evaluated
Till the time avoid high fatty, oily foods.
