What Causes Pain In The Esophagus Whenever The Head Is Turned?
I am 21 years old and I have recently noticed when I turn my head sometimes my esophagus has a strange feeling, almost painful like right below my adam s apple. It stops if I hold my head forward for a few moments, but will continue until I do so. Could this be related to my hiatal hernia? It just started in the past few days while I was diagnosed with the hernia about six years ago as well as some gall bladder issues. I also suffer from frequent heartburn.
Turning of head side ways feeling pain at Adam's apple may be not from esophagus. It may be from neck muscle or trachea. Esophageal pain is induced while on swallowing. Other possible causes are like thyroiditis or tracheitis etc. Hiatel hernia may be not a causative for this pain. Use tablet pantaprazole before breakfast for one week. Use tablet aceclofenac twice a day for three days. If symptoms not improved please consult with your ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
