What Causes Pain In The Foot When Stand Up In The Affected Leg?

Hi, I have a cast on my right foot which goes all the way up to my knee after I broke the Navicular bone in my foot. I keep getting pains in my calf, I think it's cramp, which something I never usually suffer from and it only happens when I stand up in my affected leg. When I lay down its fine. Is this normal?
