What Causes Painful And Swollen Ankles While Had Hysterectomy And Thyroid Removal?

52 yr female has had hysterectomy and thyroid removed.,Painful, prickly ankles. Feels like rubber bands being flicked around the tops of my ankles, both swell when hot, they don t really go down. Have had test for venous supply, that s ok. Going to have nerve conduction test. Have been tested for diabetes, ok. One doctor said to talk panadol and go home, not happy. Something is really wrong and i am scared. 165cm and 62 kg

Hello,

Hypothyroidism may lead to pedal edema. Other possibilities like deep vein thrombosis or hypoproteinemia etc. Please get serum albumin, complete blood picture, ECG and chest X-ray tests. Review with reports and consult with your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
