What Causes Persistent Headaches With Nausea?

For the past week I have had an on and off headache. My fasting blood sugars have been between 190 and 220 and my other blood sugars have ranged between 198 and 305. I have taken headache and migraine meds, to no avail. I am assuming it is because of the blood sugars. I have also had periodic nausea, but this morning started vomiting. I have no other symptoms. At what point do I need to take a trip to the emergency department?

Hi,

Recent onset headaches with vomiting with high sugar levels should not be taken casually. In case it doesn't settle down soon, in my opinion visit to ER is required. Please avoid stress, prolonged screen time and restrict carbohydrate intake in your diet.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Abhishek Juneja, Neurologist
