What Causes Poor Chest Expansion, Impaired Percussion Note And Crepitations In Mid Zone?
CAN YOU EXPLAIN THE CASE? He is breathless at rest and chest expansion is poor. The percussion note is impaired in the right axilla and breath sounds, although faint, are vesicular. Crepitations are audible on the right mid zone posteriorly and in the right axilla. Scattered ronchi are available.
Poor chest expansions, breathlessness, crepitation in axilla and mid zone are suggestive of lung infection (pneumonia).
So, it is better to take the patient to hospital and get done clinical examination of respiratory system and chest x-ray. Chest x ray is must for the diagnosis of pneumonia.
This patient will need hospitalization, oxygen, Intravenous antibiotics, fluids and other supportive treatment.
