hi Doctor, i am approaching 40 years and then lately i noticed that i sometimes have post coital bleeding when i have an intercourse with my husband a week prior to my menses and few days after my menstrual period especially if during orgasm he wants to have a deep penetration and moreso he loves to do it when i am in all fours (dog position) i hope you can give an answer as i am worried about it. i had history of bilateral salpingectomy and one D&C i started having intercourse at the age of 18

Apart from this, considering your age, it is preferable to have a complete clinical evaluation and get a pap smear. Vaginal and cervical infection, erosion of the cervix, polyps of the cervix and the endometrium can also cause post coital bleeding. If you have had unhealthy pap smear reports in the past, it is significant and you may need colposcopy. Salpingectomy cannot be the cause of such bleeding; the cause of the D&C is important.
