What Causes Pressure On The Tail Bone With Colonoscopy?
I recently had a colonscopy that resulted in the removal of 9 pre cancerous polyops. DUring the procedure the doctor said he "nicked" a hemmeriod. Since the procedure I have had severe to moderate pressure on my tailbone before and after using the bathroom. I will have a good day then two or three bad days
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood your concerns. Since 9 precancerous polyps were removed during the colonoscopy, it should have take time and lots of manipulation and also there is history of nicking a hemorrhoid. These indicate that there may be a formation of fissure-in-ano or developed a small hematoma or an abscess in the posterior area which gives you the symptoms of pain at the tail bone. I would advise you the following in such a situation: Get per-rectal digital palpation if the pain allows and ano-proctoscopy to know the exact diagnosis. Sitz bath in a tub with warm water to sooth the area. Take mild laxative with your Doctor's guidance to have smooth and soft motion. Anti-inflammatory medication with painkiller properties. Further management as per the findings.
