hi i am 31 i had a baby 7 months via c section i had the mirena before i had my baby and took it out to become pregnant. I tried fitting it a few months a go it failed it wasnt placed correctly because it didnt go far enough into the cervix because she felt some resistanceso we took it out. tried again today but the fitting was soo painful i told them to stop. so they considered general anaesthesia to get it inserted i want to knw why you think i am having issues with placement now
Insertion of Mirena, within 7 months of delivery, it is possible that the C-section scar on the uterus is not healed enough, and the healing process might have led to constriction of the cervix which makes it painful to insert. Thus, under anesthesia, they can dial are the cervix and insert it.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
